Where 60-inch ceiling fans can be used? [Take advantage of 60-inch ceiling fan]
From Superfan, India’s first super energy efficient ceiling fan
There are fewer choices in 60” ceiling fans in India. This may be due to the lack of knowledge among the consumers and shops, to the need to appropriately size the fan and reap its advantages. Typically, the 48” (1200 mm) ceiling fan irrespective of its fit to the space and suffers a lack in comfort, energy and cost efficiency.
In a 60” inch ceiling fan, 60” refers to the diameter of the fan including the motor. The size is technically referred to as the span, this is indicated in inches or mm. By fan laws, the wider blades require less RPM to deliver the same airflow as a shorter blade. Hence a 60” fan can deliver the same airflow as a smaller fan at lower RPM, this lower RPM results in quietness. These fans are usually designed to deliver more airflow than the smaller fans so at top speed they can move more air around if the user requires it. In energy efficient motor technology like Brushless DC motor, the lower RPM increases the energy efficiency. Even though the larger sizes have these benefits, installing a larger fan in a small space may hinder the flow and affect its operation, so it is vital to size the fan according to the need.
In domestic spaces like bedroom, a 60” ceiling fan offers pleasant comfort, quietness and energy efficiency
Comfort: The airflow coverage of 60” ceiling fan is about 8 feet in diameter*. This coverage area covers about 85% of a useable space in an average bedroom in India. 60” ceiling fan covers the entirety of a king-size bed with only 70% of its total fan coverage area.
Quietness: Due to their size the larger fans can deliver the same airflow as a smaller fan at a lower RPM. A decrease in RPM reduces the noise produced during its operation. Hence 60 inch ceiling fans generate lower noise for the same airflow than a 48” ceiling fan.
Money saving (Energy saving): 60” ceiling fan deliver higher airflow and offer wider coverage with only a slight increase in the power consumption compared to a 48” fan.
In commercial spaces, a 60” ceiling fan offers superior value, better aesthetics and higher energy savings.
Superior value: Airflow coverage of two 60” ceiling fans is equal to three 48” ceiling fans, this reduces the initial investment and maintenance.
Reducing operational cost (Energy saving): 60” ceiling fan deliver higher airflow and offer wider coverage with only a slight increase in the power consumption (in BLDC fans) compared to a 48” fan.
Aesthetics and comfort: Fewer number of fans offer a better look of the space and significantly reduce the noise from the fans.
Super Q 60” variant
60 inch variant of Super Q model delivers about 330 CMM airflow at 200 RPM for 35 W with a coverage of about 50 sq. Ft. This airflow is 40% more than a 48 inch ceiling fan for the same electricity. The lower RPM makes the fan twice as silent as a regular fan.

I have a living room that is 18 x 12 ft. The ceiling has a horizontal beam at 15 ft length which is 2 ft deep, this divides the room into a part that is 15 x 12 ft and another 3 x 12 ft portion. There are 3 fan hooks fixed at equal distance from each other at 3.75 ft from each other along the length of the room. The height of the ceiling is 8.75 ft.
What would be the best solution for my room? Should I go for 1 fan of 1400 mm or 2 fans of 900 mm?
Thanks for posting your query regarding the selection of right size of the ceiling fan. Since there is a partition in between, it is better to go for 2 fans since it can give you ideal personalized airflow subject to the occupancy.
Can I get customised ceiling FAN, i.e.
1) 1020 mm size,
2) 4 blades,
3) a simple design of choice and 4) BLDC with remote ?
Please let me know
